Veterinarian (Part-Time Contract) Concord, New Hampshire (Hybrid - Primarily Remote) Contract Through: December 31, 2027 (Renewable up to 4 additional years) Part-time: Approximately 17 hours per month Hours may increase during outbreaks or public health emergencies. Primarily remote work, On-site presence required at: Concord, NH Travel within New Hampshire may be required. 24/7 availability for urgent zoonotic consultations required We're seeking a licensed veterinarian with public health expertise to serve as the State's Subject Matter Expert (SME) for zoonotic diseases. This contracted role will support statewide disease prevention, surveillance, and outbreak response efforts using a One Health approach that integrates human, animal, and environmental health. This is a part-time, contract position in which the selected veterinarian performs the services, while the awarded vendor maintains contractual responsibility and payroll accountability. Serve as the State's primary SME for zoonotic diseases Support outbreak investigations and emergency response Provide consultation within 24 hours for high-priority cases Assist in disease surveillance, monitoring, and trend analysis Develop and review SOPs, response plans, and One Health protocols Provide training and technical guidance to public health and animal health partners Coordinate with state, federal, and local agencies (agriculture, wildlife, public health) Support public health communications and media inquiries Examples of Diseases Covered Includes, but is not limited to: Rabies Lyme Disease Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) Salmonella Campylobacter Listeria West Nile Virus Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEEV) Dengue Zika Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) exposures Minimum Qualifications Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited institution Licensure Active, unrestricted veterinarian license Must be valid for practice in New Hampshire Experience Experience in zoonotic disease investigations Experience with outbreak response and case management Familiarity with disease surveillance systems Experience working with public health agencies Emergency preparedness and response experience Knowledge of One Health principles Recruiter Submission Template Full Name: Highest Veterinary Degree (DVM or equivalent - University, Graduation Year): Active Veterinary License (State & License Number): Is license valid for practice in New Hampshire?
