Overview Please note: The following tasks are an outline of the duties and responsibilities of this position. Other duties to be assigned as necessary and may change to meet departmental needs. POSITION DESCRIPTION: is not intended to cover every work assignment a position may have. Rather, they cover the broad responsibilities of the position. The Instructional Faculty member is associated with the Joint Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies/ Master of Public Health Program, in the College of Education and Health Sciences. Primary responsibilities include teaching and evaluating students. ResponsibilitiesSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: are those work assignments which are predominant, regular and recurring. 1. Didactic Instructional Faculty a. Work closely with the Director of Didactic Education or other PA Principal Faculty. b. Develop and deliver lecture and laboratory material content that meet course objectives. c. Develop and/or implement evaluation tools to assess the student's knowledge of course content as outlined in the course objectives. d. Provide remediation as needed for students with sub-standard performance 2. Clinical Instructional Faculty a. Work closely with the Director of Clinical Education or other PA Principal Faculty. b. Work with PA students in the clinical setting, assigning appropriate patients c. Assess the knowledge, skills and attitudes of PA students 3. Both: a. Advise the program director and other appropriate individuals of any problems related to behavior, academics or professionalism. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES N/A QualificationsQUALIFICATION(S): • Current certification, licensure and terminal degree appropriate to the teaching responsibilities. • Clinical experience and teaching experience is preferred. CORE COMPETENCIES: identify the behavior an employee is expected to demonstrate. • Ability to work collaboratively as a team. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to address different audiences • Highly organized, self-starter • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
