Job Full Description Maintenance Mechanic Industrial manufacturing site in Denton, TX Express Employment Professionals of Denton CountyRequired Experience(Read before Applying) • Basic welding knowledge (types, rods) • Understanding of mechanical components (bearings, chains, belts, pulleys) • Pipe knowledge (types, SCH) • Compressed air basics (PSI, CFM) • Alignment/inspection skills • Hydraulics familiarity • Safety awareness (Lockout/Tagout)Pay: $24.50/hrSchedule: 2pm-10pm M-F (Saturdays as needed) Job Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime at the manufacturing plant. This role requires mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a production environment. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems on production equipment. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant machinery and infrastructure. Inspect and troubleshoot plant systems including kilns, conveyors, mixers, crushers, extruders, and material handling equipment. Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals. Weld, fabricate, and modify equipment parts and structural components as needed. Record maintenance activities and complete work orders using CMMS or manual systems. Ensure all repairs and maintenance work are conducted safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations. Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery or equipment. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve plant efficiency. Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and parts inventory. Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including bearings, belts, chains, and gearboxes. Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics. Basic electrical troubleshooting (motors, sensors, switches). Welding and metal fabrication (MIG, Stick, or TIG). Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely. Forklift and equipment operation skills are a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Work in dusty, hot, and noisy industrial environments. Stand, walk, kneel, climb ladders and stairs for extended periods. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
