POSITION SUMMARY: The YMCA of Southern Nevada is looking for seasonal pool managers to join our team! Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, you will manage the day-to-day operations and programs of the aquatics department in accordance with the purposes and policies set forth by the Association. You will work with lifeguards to ensure pool safety and cleanliness while ensuring an excellent member experience for swim lessons, public swim and special events. This is a part-time in-person position. We are currently hiring for seasonal positions at Centennial Hills and Durango Hills YMCAs. Seasonal training will be held from May 15th - May 18th, 2026. Outdoor seasonal pools are open from May 22nd - September 7th. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manages all Aquatic Programs, including but not limited to; public swim, lifeguarding, swim instruction, and special events. Conducts swim lessons as needed. May also lifeguard, clean, vacuum pools, restrooms and surrounding areas and assist with other programs as needed. Promotes aquatic safety, maintenance standards and guidelines as outlined by the YMCA while maintaining code regulations. Schedules staff maintaining proper ratios at all times. Provides accurate and timely reports. Reviews and evaluates the lesson enrollment, open swim attendance and services of the Aquatic Department and communicates findings to the Aquatics Director and Branch Executive Director. Implements weekly in-services during summer months. Conducts and documents routine drills. Reviews effectiveness of employed personnel and volunteers; Observes individual performance; and appraises its effectiveness. Promotes and implements character development in all curriculum, training and supervision. Builds and maintains a high standard of customer service for all members. Performs all other duties as assigned. ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS: Adheres to policies related to boundaries with children. Attends required abuse risk management training. Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities. Follows employees and volunteers screening requirements and use screening instruments to screen for abuse risk. Provides employees and volunteers with on-going supervision and training related to abuse risk. Provides employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with youth. Requires employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse. Responds quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organization's progressive disciplinary procedures. Responds seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Communicates to all employees and volunteers the organization's commitment to protect their consumers from abuse. Reports essential abuse risk management information to their supervisor, executive director, or human resources. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises up to 40 employees in the Aquatics Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Must display visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents as well as the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation. Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate management techniques. Must successfully pass a water test consisting of various strokes and general swimming skills. QUALIFICATIONS: Highschool diploma or GED, some college is preferred. Minimum of three years of experience plus one year of pool management. Must successfully pass a water test consisting of lifeguard strokes and general rescue skills. Must be 15 years of age or older. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certification as a YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification as a YMCA or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (preferred) Certification as a YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (preferred) American Red Cross CPR for the professional rescuer (includes AED) Certification First Aid Certification Oxygen Certification
