We are looking for an engineering lead or architect who has extensive experience in distributed systems and can drive projects forward while providing technical leadership. This role will significantly shape the technical direction and business success of our marketplace platform. As a Senior Principal Software Engineer on the Oracle Cloud Marketplace team, you will play a vital role in developing services that allow customers to purchase pre-configured software installations across various platforms. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire tech stack—from backend distributed services and e-commerce transactions to the engaging web applications users will interact with. You'll thrive by designing complex software systems, coding across the entire stack, and guiding fellow engineers in a supportive, startup-like environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of essential features and services. Mentor and empower other engineers. Collaborate with product managers and leadership teams to align on vision and execution. Write high-quality code efficiently while enhancing our development and testing automation processes. Your Qualifications: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 8-10+ years of experience in full stack software development and operation of distributed services. Proven ability to conduct architecture and functional reviews while collaborating through the product launch process. Hands-on experience in building and operating complete systems. Proficiency in Java, Python, Golang, and JavaScript. Expertise in REST API design and multi-tenant systems. Familiarity with browser UIs, TCP/IP, HTTP, and standard network architectures. Understanding of databases, NoSQL, storage, and distributed persistence technologies. Experience in providing technical leadership and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
