AI & Data - Senior Data Modeler We are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant Data Modeler who excels in delivering data models that cater to business needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong client management and communication skills, backed by a proven history of successful end-to-end implementations in data engineering projects. Your role and responsibilities As a Senior Data Modeler, your primary focus will be transforming data into actionable insights. Key responsibilities include: Leading the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) using the Kimball dimensional methodology. Designing and implementing star schemas (Fact and Dimension tables) that enhance enterprise analytical, BI, and reporting capabilities with optimal performance. Defining and modeling Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), particularly SCD Type 2, to accurately capture and maintain historical context over time. Determining the appropriate grain for fact tables and establishing measurable facts and their connections to dimension tables. Creating highly denormalized dimension structures to minimize join operations and simplify querying for users. Collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to accurately understand data requirements and align data models with business objectives. Developing and maintaining data dictionaries and metadata repositories to ensure data model consistency and integrity. Identifying and resolving data model performance issues for optimal database functionality. Providing guidance and managing a small team of 1-3 resources. Documenting and communicating data model designs and standards for clarity across the organization. Creating detailed source-to-target mapping (STM) documentation for ETL/ELT developers, including SCD Type 2 logic and surrogate key generation rules. Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in data modeling to integrate innovative techniques into our processes. Utilizing industry-standard data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio) for maintaining models and managing version control. To qualify for this role, you should have: A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field. 7+ years of hands-on experience in data modeling. A strong grasp of SQL and data modeling concepts such as Kimball dimensional modeling. Experience with major enterprise relational database platforms or cloud data warehouses (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server). A solid understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT architecture, data quality management, and metadata management. Mastery of SCD Type 2 implementation methods for preserving historical data. Ashcione of translating complex business processes into precise technical data models. Proficiency with data modeling tools like Erwin or Power Designer. Experience in designing and implementing effective database structures. Knowledge of best practices for data modeling and database design. The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams for data requirement analysis. Experience in database query performance tuning. Cloud certification is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Industry knowledge in the Hospitality sector is essential. Ideally, you should also have: The ability to navigate complex issues and make informed decisions. Experience supervising junior team members. Participated in sales opportunities and RFP responses. Cloud knowledge or certification, preferably Azure DP-203. A passion for innovation and applying emerging technologies to tackle real-world challenges. Spanish and/or Italian language skills are a bonus.
