Job Title: Director of Business Finance Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Job Summary The Director of Business Finance serves as the primary financial partner to operations leadership, translating financial data into actionable business insight. This role owns financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis, with a focus on driving margin improvement, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making. The Director of Business Finance leads the development of budgets and forecasts, delivers forward-looking analysis, and provides clear financial narratives to executive leadership, while working in close partnership with the Controller to ensure alignment between financial results and operational drivers. Supervisory Responsibilities Provide strong leadership, setting a positive example and fostering a collaborative work environment. Manage and develop a team, providing feedback, coaching, and guidance to support their growth and success. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Essential Duties Lead the development, coordination, and communication of the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans in partnership with operations, sales teams, and executive leadership. Lead financial performance analysis and reporting, including analysis of revenue, margin, volume, mix, labor, and productivity drivers versus plan, forecast, and prior periods. Partner closely with operations leadership to provide plant- and business-unit-level financial insight, including cost behavior, efficiency metrics, and operational leverage. Serve as the primary finance business partner to Sales & Marketing teams, providing financial analysis to support pricing strategies, customer profitability analysis, and deal economics. Develop and maintain standardized management reporting, KPIs, and dashboards to support executive and operational decision-making. Provide financial analysis and scenario modeling to inform strategic initiatives, capital investments, and growth opportunities. Translate complex financial data into clear insights and recommendations for executive leadership, with a focus on forward-looking risk and opportunity identification. Collaborate with the Controller to align financial results, forecasts, and operational drivers while maintaining appropriate segregation of duties between accounting and financial planning. Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, analytics automation, and data usability across the organization. Lead and mentor FP&A and business finance team members, fostering strong analytical capability and business acumen. Support Board, bank, and management presentations through forward-looking analysis, performance narratives, and strategic financial insights. Act as a key change agent in advancing financial literacy across the organization by educating leaders on financial drivers, KPIs, and performance levers. Education and Experience Knowledge of financial and economic principles normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and experience with ERP's (Microsoft D365, FinOps, Infor-Syteline), Experience with SSRS Reporting, Power BI and/or SQL Coding, is preferred. Experience with financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting. Experience with ERP optimization and automation to initiatives to improve financial processes and reporting. Physical Requirements Capability to lift and carry objects up to 15lbs of various weights such as office supplies. Proficiency in using hands, fingers, and arms for tasks such as typing and writing. Sufficient visual acuity to read company documents. Ability to hear and understand verbal communication. Endurance to withstand duties that involve repetitive tasks. Ability to sit for extended periods of time, especially for office-based roles that involve desk work or operating computer systems. Flexibility to bend, stoop, and reach low or high objects. Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear protective gear as required by the job. Travel Requirements This position requires occasional overnight travel and/or occasional travel during the workday. Driver Qualification The ability to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle on behalf of the company is preferred. Inclusion in the company's driver qualification program is required to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle. Becoming a qualified driver includes: Agree to the company driving policies that apply to company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle as applicable. Possess and maintain a valid driver license and be a minimum of 21 years of age. Maintain an acceptable driving record, as evidenced by completion of a baseline motor vehicle record check and ongoing monitoring. When driving a personal vehicle on behalf of the company, must provide a copy of the declaration page from personal auto insurance that shows the policy dates and minimum coverage amounts ($300,000 bodily injury per accident/$100,000 property damage per accident or if driving less than 5 hours/200 miles a year $50,000 bodily injury per accident/$10,000 property damage per accident or the state minimum, whichever is more).
