Summary: The Field Service Technician - Solar Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is crucial in maintaining and operating large-scale solar facilities. In this role, you will engage in both preventative and corrective maintenance for essential on-site equipment such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters. Key Responsibilities: Support senior technicians and serve as a positive role model for junior team members. Efficiently troubleshoot low and medium voltage AC and DC power systems. Conduct regular preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems using hand tools effectively. Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and maintain an inventory of spare parts while strictly following each site's safety plan. Adhere to Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures diligently. Engage professionally with project stakeholders, owners, and subcontractors while representing our company positively. Operate company vehicles in compliance with vehicle laws and internal policies. Demonstrate punctual attendance and adhere to company policies and procedures. Promote a culture of safety and lead by example in safety practices. Safety: Prioritize safety by strictly adhering to safety procedures at all times. Encourage safe behaviors and actively report unsafe conditions. Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) before starting work tasks. Complete necessary training related to job responsibilities before beginning work. Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required; a related technical degree is preferred. OSHA 10/30 certification and FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot certification are highly desired. A minimum of 3 years of relevant maintenance experience. Strong foundational knowledge of electrical power systems, circuit theory, and OSHA regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with electrical tools such as multimeters and IR cameras, as well as experience with SCADA systems. Willingness to travel domestically 76-100% of the time; a valid driver's license is mandatory. Ideal candidates should reside within 60 miles of a major airport, preferably in Denver, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, or Atlanta. Compensation: Anticipated base salary range: $28.09 - $35.11, depending on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. Frequent fine motor skills such as gripping and constant activities like reading and handling. Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, and humidity.
