Caregivers are often exhausted, overwhelmed, and trying to do it all alone. You can offer priceless moments of rest by simply being a calm, caring presence with a patient while their caregiver steps away. As a Respite Companion, you may: Sit bedside and provide watchful companionship Read aloud, share music, or just offer quiet presence Allow caregivers to run errands, sleep, or take a needed break Help preserve family well-being during a tender time You are not responsible for medical care — just human care. Volunteering includes: Free, supportive training Flexible shifts based on your availability Guidance from a dedicated volunteer coordinator and end of life doula Deeply meaningful connection and appreciation “When you sit with someone, you give the gift of time.
