Controller

Overview We are seeking a hands-on Controller to build and lead the accounting function for a growing ~$15M organization. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing all accounting processes, owning NetSuite, and managing cost accounting. The ideal candidate is a true doer who is comfortable operating independently, rolling up their sleeves, and creating structure where none currently exists. Key Responsibilities Build, implement, and maintain all accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls from the ground up Own day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and month-end close Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely and accurate financial reporting Manage and optimize NetSuite, including setup, workflows, reporting, and integrations Oversee cost accounting, including product costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and margin analysis Prepare and present financial statements, forecasts, and variance analysis to leadership Manage budgeting and cash flow forecasting Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners Support operational leaders with financial insights to drive profitability and efficiency Scale processes and systems to support company growth Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or senior-level responsibility Strong NetSuite experience required Proven cost accounting experience (manufacturing or product-based environment strongly preferred) Experience building accounting processes and controls in a growing or entrepreneurial environment Highly hands-on with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills What Success Looks Like A fully documented, efficient accounting operation Clean, timely closes and accurate financial reporting Reliable cost data that supports pricing and margin decisions A scalable finance foundation that supports future growth
