Join H&R Block as a skilled Bookkeeping Specialist, where you will play a key role in providing outstanding bookkeeping, payroll, and customer service. Be part of our mission to help and inspire communities everywhere. Key Responsibilities: Record financial transactions accurately into subsidiary books and general ledgers. Perform account reconciliations and ensure balance accuracy. Generate and analyze insightful financial statements. Prepare and process payroll efficiently. Generate 1099s and W2s, while calculating and preparing tax statements. Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts. Support client retention and identify growth opportunities. Your Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Possess national bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or demonstrate the ability to obtain them. 1-3 years of relevant bookkeeping experience. Solid understanding of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies, and regulations accurately. Maintain confidentiality of information with professionalism. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to multi-task and work independently. Preferred Skills: Experience with Xero accounting software is a plus. This office is independently owned and operated under an agreement with H&R Block.
