Join our team as an Intermediate Packaging Operator to play a crucial role in the packaging of Dry Powder Inhalation (DPI) products within a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting. In this position, you will operate advanced packaging equipment, ensuring adherence to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to uphold the highest standards of product quality and operational efficiency. Your role will also involve providing support to warehouse, manufacturing, and facilities functions as necessary. Location: Hauppauge, NY Schedule: Second Shift, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (schedule may vary based on business needs) Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly) Pay Range: $18.72/hour - $26.00/hour Reports To: Packaging Supervisor Key Responsibilities Efficiently operate pharmaceutical packaging equipment while maintaining high-quality standards and minimizing rejection rates. Perform cleaning of machines and packaging areas during batch-to-batch transitions and product changeovers. Conduct routine operations and preventative maintenance on packaging equipment. Identify and assist in resolving packaging-related issues promptly. Ensure proper status labeling throughout all stages of the packaging process. Document equipment calibration accurately and in a timely manner. Conduct line clearance procedures before starting packaging activities. Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements as outlined in standard operating procedures. Complete all required documentation accurately and within established timelines. Follow cGMP guidelines, regulatory standards, and company policies diligently. Operate equipment safely in compliance with health and safety protocols. Communicate operational issues to the respective supervisor or manager. Engage in daily maintenance activities for equipment and machinery. Assist in training new employees within the department when necessary. Support warehouse, manufacturing, or facilities operations as needed. Work both independently and collaboratively with team members to achieve assigned tasks. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Accredited college certificate or university degree preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in packaging operations is preferred. Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) to follow instructions and complete documentation. Familiarity with cGMP and regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical setting preferred. Basic understanding of mechanical machinery and control system operating principles. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively. Capability to work independently and as part of a team. Awareness of health and safety procedures, including OSHA guidelines. Basic mathematical and organizational skills are necessary. Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and moving materials as required. Must frequently lift up to 5 pounds, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and seldom lift up to 50 pounds using equipment like a hand truck. Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection when necessary.
