Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 03/04/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Overview Seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in a Level III trauma hospital. This facility serves patients of all ages and provides a wide range of emergency, critical care, and surgical services. This role requires strong independence, critical thinking, and the ability to function confidently as the only RT on shift when needed. Responsibilities Provide respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients Manage ventilators and advanced airway support Respond to emergency and trauma situations Support ER and critical care units Administer respiratory treatments and medications per protocol Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including emergency and ICU staff Participate in weekend and on-call coverage as needed Maintain accurate documentation in the facility EHR Float as needed per department policy Requirements Active West Virginia RRT license BLS ACLS NRP PALS Minimum 1 year Respiratory Therapy experience Experience in ER and critical care settings required Ability to work independently in a critical access hospital environment Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Additional Details Shift: 3x12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) 36 hours guaranteed weekly Every other weekend / as needed Call required as needed Serves all age groups Orientation held biweekly on Wednesdays 16 hours non-billable orientation Scrubs: Any color (no casual wear permitted) Level III Trauma facility Candidates must reside 60+ miles from facility to qualify as travel. All required certifications must be active prior to start date. Must be comfortable working independently and serving as sole RT on shift when needed. ER and critical care experience required. Start dates typically align with biweekly Wednesday orientation.
