Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Plant Controller oversees all financial operations, cost accounting, and budgeting in a manufacturing environment, acting as a key business partner to management to improve profitability and efficiency. They are responsible for monthly financial reporting, inventory valuation, internal controls, and variance analysis. Typically, this role requires a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, 5+ years of experience, and strong ERP/Excel/QB skills.Key Responsibilities and Duties Financial Reporting & Analysis:Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring GAAP compliance.Cost Accounting & Control:Manages inventory valuation, standard costing, and analyzes production cost variances (material, labor, overhead) to improve profitability.Budgeting & Forecasting:Leads the annual plant budget process, monthly forecasting, and capital expenditure planning.Operational Support:Partners with plant management to identify cost-reduction opportunities, monitor productivity, and optimize operational efficiency.Internal Controls & Compliance:Ensures strict adherence to corporate policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX).Team Leadership:Supervises, mentors, and trains local accounting or finance staff. Required Skills and Qualifications Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.Experience:Generally, 5-7+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.Technical Skills:Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., ECI Max) and advanced Microsoft Excel and QB skills.Certifications:CPA or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.Soft Skills:Strong communication, analytical, and leadership abilities.
