Accountabilities: Lead the in-life Commercial management strategy across live contracts and portfolios. Act as a senior commercial advisor to Managing Directors and Account Directors, ensuring MDs maintain ownership of client relationships and overall deal accountability. Own and lead complex commercial negotiations, including variations, extensions, scope changes, pricing trade-offs, and dispute resolution. Establish commercial standards, playbooks, and parameters for Business Finance to manage low complexity changes effectively. Collaborate closely with Business Finance to ensure economically sound negotiations, and work with Legal to implement compliant contract amendments. Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks throughout the contract lifecycle. Build and lead a high-performing commercial management team while enhancing commercial governance, capability, and maturity across the organization. Key Contacts & Relationships: Internal: Director of Operational Performance & Finance Managing Directors, Regional Directors, Customer Relationship teams Director of Finance Business Partnering Legal Counsel Operations Directors and Contract Managers Growth/Business Development leadership Procurement and Supplier Management External: External commissioners, partners, and subcontractors Qualifications & Experience Essential: Proven track record of senior-level commercial management within large, complex service-delivery contracts (preferably public sector or regulated environments). Extensive experience in commercial negotiation, contract management, and risk management across multi-million-pound portfolios. Strong financial literacy and commercial acumen, capable of interpreting and influencing financial outcomes. Demonstrable experience in leading and developing high-performing commercial teams. Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a history of engaging at senior and executive levels. Degree-qualified (law, finance, business, or related discipline) and/or recognized commercial or legal qualification (e.g., IACCM, CIPS, legal background) desirable. Desirable: Experience in public sector or outsourced services organizations.
