The selected individual will advocate for the highest standards of animal welfare, ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and cultivate an inclusive and collaborative research environment. As the University’s primary Veterinarian, you will promote ethical practices and strengthen the institution’s research mission. We seek a seasoned, strategic leader adept in laboratory animal medicine and comprehensive care program management. The perfect candidate will possess: A DVM or equivalent advanced degree in veterinary medicine, with eligibility for licensure in Alabama. At least 10 years of experience in laboratory animal medicine and care program management. Board certification by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) or a similar organization; USDA veterinary accreditation preferred. This position demands exceptional communication skills and active listening, enabling you to adeptly navigate the intricacies of an academic environment.
