Join our compassionate team and help prioritize health for all The Associate Director, Technology M&A will spearhead technology due diligence and formulate integration strategies for acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. This strategic role involves comprehensive research, IT financial analysis, and investment modeling to uncover technology risks, costs, and synergy potentials across various areas including applications, infrastructure, data, cybersecurity, and operational processes. Acting as the right hand to the AVP, you will coordinate integration planning and execution, lead teams through deployment, manage external partners, and ensure favorable financial outcomes from technology investments. Additionally, you will enhance M&A processes, tools, and team capabilities to deliver consistent and scalable execution. Key Responsibilities: Integration Strategy & Execution Craft comprehensive technology integration strategies and execution plans that resonate with business goals and risk appetites. Outline Day-1, Day-2, and deployment roadmaps, factored with sequencing, dependencies, and success metrics. Lead cross-functional integration teams across technology domains (applications, data, infrastructure, identity, end-user, cybersecurity) from initial planning to full deployment and stabilization. Ensure successful integration outcomes align with business, regulatory, security, and operational readiness requirements. Financial & Investment Ownership (IT) Oversee financial accountability for technology investments related to M&A activities, covering integration costs, ongoing impacts, and synergy realization. Develop, oversee, and monitor deal-specific investment cases, forecasts, and actuals while managing variances and suggesting corrective measures. Collaborate with Finance and Corporate Development to validate technology investments align with enterprise ROI and post-close value realization. Contractor & Delivery Partner Management Manage engagement and oversight of external contractors and vendors involved in technical integration or separation work. Define scopes of work, deliverables, and success metrics; ensuring performance, cost, and quality benchmarks are met. Guarantee seamless integration of contractors with internal teams while adhering to company standards and security requirements. Program & Team Leadership Act as the AVP’s delegate in managing the Technology M&A portfolio, including prioritization, resource allocation, and execution cadence. Lead and develop managers and specialists; providing mentorship, clearing obstacles, and ensuring accountability for results. Assist in workforce planning and capability development for the Technology M&A function. Process, Tooling & Maturity Enhancement Enhance the maturity of Technology M&A processes and tools, focusing on integration playbooks and financial models. Establish standards for integration planning, contractor management, financial tracking, and deployment readiness. Promote continuous improvement through retrospective analyses, metrics, and the application of best practices. Conduct thorough reviews of technical M&A deliverables, including due diligence outputs and documentation for stakeholders. Risk Management Manage the contracting process for integration and separation efforts, negotiating beneficial terms and monitoring expenditures. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOX, PCI, and other security standards. Collaborate with security leadership and the vendor due diligence team. Proactively manage operational risks through registers, mitigation plans, and readiness reviews. Leverage your expertise to create a meaningful impact Qualifications Needed: 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in technology M&A or large-scale technology programs. Demonstrated expertise in developing technology integration strategies and driving teams through stable deployment. Solid IT financial and investment management experience, especially in integration and synergy tracking. Proven capability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external partnerships effectively. Exceptional communication skills and a knack for influencing decision-making in dynamic environments. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: MBA or advanced degree in a technology, business, or finance-related discipline. Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or financial services. Relevant certifications (PMP, SAFe, ITIL, CISSP, TOGAF) or equivalent practical experience. Experience in enhancing Technology M&A processes and tools. A reputation for acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and building high-performance teams. Additional Information This remote role requires a reliable internet connection with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps. Travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required occasionally. The compensation package includes a competitive salary ranging from $156,600 to $215,400 annually, along with a bonus incentive plan based on individual and company performance.
