Description: Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation. Positions patients and performs imaging procedures. Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients' age and ability to understand the procedure, including considerations for sight, hearing needs, and ability to cooperate, to ensure high-quality images are obtained. Reviews patient information and interprets data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age-related needs and provision of care. Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with established policies and values. Analyzes results and identifies issues with imaging quality. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results accurately. Orders, prepares, administers, stores, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and regulations. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Maintains an appropriate inventory of supplies in the Nuclear Medicine rooms.
