Estimator for Multifamily Construction

L.F. Jennings, Inc. is seeking a talented Estimator to join our dynamic Multifamily preconstruction team. Our office is located in Falls Church, Virginia, and we are looking for someone who thrives in collaborative environments while ensuring the completeness and competitiveness of our project bids. The ideal candidate will read and interpret architectural drawings, develop scopes of work for various trades, issue bid invitations, perform quantity takeoffs, and collaborate closely with both Preconstruction and Project Management teams. Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare and estimate budget costs for construction by meticulously studying plans and specifications. Analyze and resolve any cost discrepancies. Create and present comprehensive budgets, reports, and project plans. Develop competitive bids for construction projects. Work collaboratively with architects and other professionals to ensure seamless project execution. Organize and schedule meetings with clients, contractors, site managers, and team members. Navigate and comprehend building codes effectively. Stay informed about the latest safety codes and innovations in construction. Serve as a primary contact point for trade partners and project owners. Required Skills/Abilities: Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings. Experience with on-screen takeoff programs is a plus. Strong communication skills across various mediums. Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Aptitude for prioritizing multiple tasks. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 0 - 5 years of experience in the construction industry is preferred.
