Registered Nurse (RN) | Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Location: Phoenix, AZ Agency: Thrive Staffing Pay: $1,864 to $2,059 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Thrive Staffing to find a qualified CVICU RN in Phoenix, Arizona, 85013!Job TitleRN (Registered Nurse) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)City/State: Phoenix, ArizonaShift: 12H Days, 07:00:00-19:00:00, 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, holidays based on unit coverageContract Length: 13 weeksStart Date: 04/06/2026Job Description:This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), focusing on cardiac surgery recovery and related procedures. The position requires trauma care experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting.Responsibilities: Care for postoperative cardiac surgery patients, including those undergoing procedures such as Empallas, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, and thoracic surgeries. Maintain and monitor patients in a high-acuity setting with 1:1 or 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratios. Perform bedside procedures such as bronchoscopy, Swans, epidurals, and maintain sterile fields. Float to other ICUs and tele units as needed, maintaining a patient ratio of 4:1 on tele. Manage patient care alongside intensivists available during the day and on-call at night.Requirements: Must have Level 1 Trauma experience. ACLS and BLS certifications are required; CCRN preferred. ICU experience required, with a preference for CVICU background. Strong IV skills necessary; must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance with two attempts allowed. Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, understanding sterile field procedures. Natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit tests.
