Company: Highmark Inc. Job Description: JOB SUMMARY As a Lead Decision Support Analyst, you will collaborate closely with customers and design teams to prioritize data and information requirements. This role focuses on providing in-depth analysis to support projects and data-driven decisions. You will determine how decision support systems can deliver necessary information for effective business choices, translating complex requirements into functional applications utilizing advanced decision support and reporting tools. We encourage you to recommend innovative analytical approaches and lead initiatives for data modeling and security frameworks, ensuring secure and accurate information delivery. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and cultivate strong internal relationships across the organization. Provide analytical and consultative support to various internal customer areas and external partners. Mentor colleagues with less experience in both technical skills and business project management. Lead initiatives to uncover issues and ideas for study, devising methodological and technical approaches to tackle projects. Innovate new methods of analysis and database design to enhance performance measurement. Model data sources and workflows while collaborating with data management teams to create operational frameworks for policy and security implementations that ensure the secure and accurate delivery of knowledge. Assist in interpreting raw data and statistical results, identifying action items, and preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for various stakeholders, including management and clinical staff. Develop and maintain complex computer programs using 4GL programming languages (such as SAS, R, SQL) and manage database technologies (DB2, Teradata, Oracle). Perform other duties as assigned or requested. EDUCATION Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Information Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related field. Substitutions None Preferred Master's degree in a related field is a plus. EXPERIENCE Required 5 years of relevant experience as a Decision Support Analyst or similar role, with proven expertise in applying technology in business or clinical environments. Preferred None SKILLS Proficient in mainframe, PC, and internet-based technologies, with comfort working with large and complex databases. Strong familiarity with report generation tools and office software, including Microsoft Office, Business Objects, Cognos, and Enterprise Guide. Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting insights and recommendations to senior management.
