This vital position focuses on the accurate and timely preparation of histological slides, essential for patient diagnosis and treatment. Key Responsibilities Tissue Processing: Perform tissue preparation through processing, embedding, sectioning (microtomy), and staining to create high-quality histologic slides. Equipment Management: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and adherence to safety protocols. Specimen Handling: Assist in specialized staining procedures, such as immunohistochemistry, for advanced tissue analysis. Documentation: Accurately label, document, and track specimens to maintain the integrity of patient information and testing records. Collaboration: Partner with pathologists and lab staff to deliver precise and timely diagnostic information. ASCP - Histology Technician Qualifications Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology or a related field. Certification: ASCP certification as a Histology Technician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL). Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a histology lab preferred.
