Position Overview: This flexible remote role involves regional travel, approximately 2-3 times a week, with possible overnight stays. As a Cyber Risk Consultant, you will conduct vital evaluations of systems, infrastructure, software, and data for public sector clients, delivering essential risk management support. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough assessments of hardware, mobile devices, operating systems, encryption, software, and applications for our clients. Evaluate information control measures, including websites, networks, records, firewalls, and disaster recovery plans for our clients. Review policies related to information privacy, security, and inventory control, providing recommendations for enhancements. Conduct comprehensive system evaluations, analyze security control measures, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and reduce costs. Advise underwriting, marketing, and claims departments based on evaluation results and emerging trends. Deliver engaging on-site training sessions focused on IT security tailored for individuals or groups. Stay informed about cutting-edge technology and systems relevant to the public sector. Provide valuable technical support to Risk Control and Underwriting teams, sharing insights on resources and compliance regulations to strengthen risk management efforts. Collaborate with colleagues to create IT risk control policies and contribute to informative articles and newsletters. Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional assignments as needed. Travel as required for client engagements. Qualifications: Education & Certification: A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Advanced IT education and certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM are highly valued. Experience: A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including at least two years in systems auditing or consulting, along with practical IT risk management experience is required. Required Skills: Strong understanding of current technologies and trends utilized by public sector entities. Familiarity with IT compliance regulations and standards. Knowledge of phishing campaign platforms. Proven capability to gather inventory data virtually. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Able to produce comprehensive and accurate written reports. Capable of thriving in a collaborative team environment while achieving performance goals.
