We're looking for an Accounting Specialist 1/2/Tech within the Financial Services section at DPS-OMF. Minimum Qualifications One year of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience. Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties: Prepares and assists with balancing the monthly Office of Motor Vehicle Escrow Disbursements. Assists in the classification of revenues to include balancing and reconciling assigned Department of Public Safety accounts. Administers accounts receivable database to include entering, processing, billing, daily balancing, and monthly reconciliation of the subsidiary accounts receivable system Reviews and processes records of financial transactions, including invoices and/or deposit information relative to collections, refunds, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment Career Progression: This position may be filled at the Accounting Specialist 1/2/Technician, depending on the selected applicant's experience. Location: This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish. Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
