Speech Language Pathologist Opportunity Are you a Speech Language Pathologist looking for a full-time acute care/inpatient rehab position? Christian Hospital is a full-service acute care community hospital located on 28 acres in north St. Louis County. Christian Hospital is noted for its excellence in heart services and lifesaving cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, breast health services, orthopedic/spine surgery, hyperbaric wound care, pain management, vascular surgery, endocrinology, gastrointestinal care, stroke care, nephrology, therapy, radiology, urology, pulmonary care and treating sleep disorders. Northwest HealthCare, located six miles west of Christian Hospital, provides the community 24-hour emergency care, with Washington University Physicians and St. Louis Children's Hospital providing pediatric services. Northwest HealthCare is also home to the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of full-service outpatient diagnostic and imaging services in a convenient setting. The Occupational Therapy Department at Christian Hospital is located on the second floor of CH. Services are provided to patients ages ranging from adolescent to geriatric with varying diagnoses including orthopedic, neurological and acute medical. The Registered Speech Pathologist or Speech Therapist provides skilled speech and swallow therapy services to patients including all aspects of evaluation and treatment. Responsibilities include establishing treatment plans and providing treatment, considering discharge needs; expected discharge functional status; and appropriate equipment and supplies. Educates, collaborates with, and conferences with patients, families, and other health care providers; making recommendations for referrals to specialists as needed. Delegates to assistants, techs, and students through written and verbal communication including determining the skill level or competency required to provide interventions to best meet the needs of the patient. Completes documentation in accordance with departmental policies. Provides assessment, reassessment, and/or consultations for Speech Services. Minimum requirements include a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology. Experience, supervisor experience, and licenses & certifications are not required. Preferred requirements include ASHA licenses & certifications.
