Description Conduct evaluations for patients of all ages using both observational methods and standardized tests. Create individualized treatment plans that align with immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on areas such as communication, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Collaborate seamlessly with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, nursing staff, families, and caregivers to craft comprehensive care strategies. Provide education for patients and families to reinforce progress outside of therapy sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure unified continuity of care. Document all patient interactions accurately, following state, federal, and organizational policies. Engage in ongoing professional development and peer collaboration to remain updated on advancements in the field. Education A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required for those who are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Skills Expertise in evidence-based therapy approaches for varied age groups, showcasing an in-depth understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills, enabling strong rapport with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team. Ability to tailor therapeutic techniques, adjusting for cultural and linguistic diversity. Sound clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
