Taft is excited to welcome a motivated and collaborative Conflicts Specialist to our Conflicts team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with over 2 years of experience in a conflicts department within a mid to large-sized law firm. This role can be based in any of our offices located in Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis, or Minneapolis. The Conflicts Specialist will play a crucial role in managing all facets of the conflicts process. You will prepare conflicts search reports, identify ethical conflicts, and navigate business issues for new business and lateral matters. Our goal is to uphold our firm’s ethical standards and ensure exceptional service to our clients and attorneys. Duties & Responsibilities: Review and analyze conflicts search results for new business and lateral hires, identifying potential issues and determining resolution strategies. Collaborate effectively with Conflicts Counsel, General Counsel, firm attorneys, and the conflicts team to resolve conflict issues swiftly. Assist new attorneys in the firm with the transition of lateral clients and matters, including drafting engagement letters and conflict waivers. Draft and distribute ethical screen memorandums, set up new ethical walls, and manage existing walls utilizing firm software. Identify opportunities for streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risks. Support the training and development of department team members. Contribute to large-scale reviews and reconciliation of the firm's existing client/matter information and conflicts database. Deliver high-quality customer service to legal assistants and firm attorneys. Travel within the U.S. to other offices as necessary. Be available and willing to work remotely outside of regular business hours as needed. Requirements: Experience with Intapp is highly preferred. Proficient in managing multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced work environment. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Exceptional problem-solving and time management abilities. A proactive approach with the flexibility to adapt to changes in workflow. Excellent teamwork capabilities. Meticulous attention to detail, along with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Adept at simplifying complex issues for clear understanding at all levels within the firm. Juris Doctor degree required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a conflicts department of a mid to large-sized law firm is required.
