The CDL-A Driver is responsible for operating a tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes for delivering and unloading food and related products safely and efficiently, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Communicates and interacts professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Functions as a team member and performs various duties to enhance the company's service. Conducts all required safety checks, including pre/post-trip inspections according to DOT regulations. Reports any safety issues or necessary repairs. Adheres to DOT regulations and company driving safety policies. Immediately reports any safety hazards and checks trailers for properly secured freight. Performs count checks of items and verifies customer invoices. Accurately completes all required paperwork associated with freight. Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed. Delivers customer orders according to a predetermined delivery schedule. Unloads products, transporting them to designated customer areas. Conducts damage control checks and communicates with supervisors regarding order issues. Verifies delivery with the customer and obtains necessary signatures. Collects payments (cash or checks) as required, secures trailer doors, and loads customer returns. Ensures the security of the tractor, trailer, and freight at all times. Handles damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork. Maintains records of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations. Performs general housekeeping of the tractor, loading dock, and trailers. Secures all equipment and completes documentation at the end of the shift. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent 12+ months commercial driving experience Valid CDL-A Must be 21+ years of age Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check Pass road test Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases and freight of varying size and weight.
