Location: Jacksonville, FL Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $43.00 - $53.00 per hour Position Summary SNI is seeking a Finance Director to oversee all financial operations of a nonprofit organization on a contract basis. The position reports to the Executive Director. This role provides leadership for accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, procurement, payroll, and compliance, ensuring financial integrity and effective stewardship of organizational resources. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities in accordance with GAAP. Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies and internal controls; conduct periodic policy reviews. Prepare and present timely monthly financial statements for leadership and the Board of Directors. Oversee annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and the Board's Finance Committee. Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax documents, audit reports, and regulatory submissions. Prepare the annual operating budget and grant/program-specific budgets; monitor and analyze budget performance. Evaluate and manage financial systems and technology to support reporting, controls, and compliance. Oversee purchasing, procurement, inventory tracking, and insurance renewals. Supervise bi-weekly payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll tax and reporting requirements. Oversee retirement plan administration, including census reporting, eligibility, and participant distributions. Supervise and develop finance department staff. Serve as a financial resource to leadership, the Board of Directors, and committees. Assist with fundraising efforts and perform other duties as assigned. Act in a leadership capacity on behalf of the Executive Director when needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience managing accounting and financial operations, preferably within a nonprofit environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, audits, and internal controls. Experience overseeing payroll, procurement, and compliance functions. Proven leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity, ethical judgment, and confidentiality. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, leadership, Board members, and external partners. Work Environment & Schedule Professional office environment. Full-time schedule, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Occasional evenings, weekends, and local travel as required #SNIF.
