Job Title: Depot Technician Location- Tampa, FL Role Overview The Depot Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining IT and telecom hardware at the depot level. This role ensures timely resolution of technical issues, manages spare parts inventory, and supports installation and configuration activities. The technician will also coordinate with field engineers, Logistics team, maintain compliance with safety standards, and provide guidance to junior team members. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and peripheral devices. Manage inventory of spare parts and ensure proper documentation of repairs and replacements. Coordinate with field engineers and service teams for escalated issues. Conduct preventive maintenance and quality checks on returned equipment. Maintain accurate records in ticketing systems and generate service reports. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all repair activities. Support installation, configuration, and testing of equipment as required. Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians when necessary. Handle asset tagging, warranty repairs, and reverse logistics. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for onboarding and hardware assignments. Tools & Technologies Used ITSM Platforms: ServiceNow or equivalent for ticketing and incident management. Imaging Tools: SCCM, JAMF for OS deployment and configuration. Diagnostic Tools: OEM diagnostic utilities, multimeters, and repair kits. Asset Management Systems: HCLTech proprietary tools or standard platforms. Remote Support Tools: Bomgar, TeamViewer. Backup & Recovery: Veeam or enterprise backup solutions. Collaboration Tools: Microsoft Teams, Outlook. Required Skills & Qualifications Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in hardware repair, maintenance, or technical support. Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and repair techniques for IT/telecom equipment. Familiarity with inventory management and documentation processes. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or OEM-specific certifications. Experience in depot-level operations and reverse logistics. Working Conditions Based at the depot with occasional travel to field sites. May require lifting and handling of equipment. Flexible working in shifts or extended hours during peak demand.
