Job Details Location: Albany, NY 12208 (Capital Region, New York) Position Type: Travel Nurse – PCU Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit RN Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Assignment Type: Travel assignment (Travel Nurse) Start Date: April 26, 2026 End Date: July 26, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour day shifts) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250 - $2370 per week Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs required EMR: Epic experience required Qualifications / Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, step-down, or similar high-acuity adult care experience (community hospital ICU experience preferred) ACLS certification required Competency in advanced hemodynamics, pressor use and titration protocols Experience managing antihypertensive drips, sedative and naloxone (Narcan) drips, thrombo-embolic agents Familiarity with arterial line (a-line), CVP monitoring, EVD management, orthopedic traction, and infection prevention protocols Proficiency with respiratory support modalities (HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen delivery systems) Capable of managing a patient load of up to 3 high-acuity patients Competency test required within 24 hours of submission Epic EMR proficiency and strong documentation skills Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to medically complex and surgically delicate adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Monitor and manage advanced hemodynamics, titrate vasoactive drips per protocol, and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition Administer medications and infusions safely, including antihypertensives, sedatives, and thrombolytic-related therapies Manage respiratory support for patients on HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and other modalities Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers) to develop and implement individualized care plans Utilize Epic EMR for accurate, timely documentation and communication Follow infection prevention protocols, hospital policies, and patient safety procedures Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during transitions of care Why This Travel Nurse PCU Job Opportunity to work in a high-acuity Progressive Care Unit in Albany, NY—strong option for travel nurse RNs seeking New York nursing jobs Gain hands-on experience with advanced hemodynamics and complex patient management Work with Epic EMR in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Travel PCU Registered Nurse in Albany, NY.
