Join our dedicated team in the Neurosurgery outpatient practice, where we are looking for a dynamic Registered Nurse with exceptional attention to detail and strong clinical reasoning skills. This full-time position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule, primarily during the day. You will be working at our facility located in Albany, NY. As a crucial member of our healthcare team, you will collaborate under the direction of practice physicians and advanced practice providers (APP), with supervision from the Nurse Manager and Nurse Supervisor. Your role will involve providing direct patient care, triage services (both in-person and telephonic), and evaluating patients' specific care plans. Key Responsibilities: Accurately obtain and record vital signs, reporting any abnormal values to the treating provider. Collect and document comprehensive patient histories and conduct focused physical assessments based on clinic procedures. Administer medications and treatments to patients as directed by a physician or APP. Assist in in-office procedures relevant to the specialty and accurately document outcomes in the EHR. Review and triage incoming test results, patient requests, and facilitate necessary follow-up communications with patients. Utilize resources effectively to achieve optimal patient outcomes while contributing to compliance with quality data metrics. Delegate appropriate tasks to LPNs and MAs in line with licensure requirements. Comply with regulatory standards and internal policies set by the facility. Provide orientation and training for newly hired staff members. Engage in continuous education related to clinic specialties to enhance your knowledge and skills. Offer educational support to patients regarding their visits and overall well-being. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree from a state-accredited Registered Nursing program is required. Current New York State RN licensure is required. Valid CPR certification is mandatory. Certification in an ambulatory specialty is preferable. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from physicians, patients, and their families. Proficient written and verbal communication abilities. Familiarity with MS Word and Excel. Experience with electronic health records is advantageous.
