Pay and Schedule Details Touring Driver Pay: Start at $1,800/week with potential earnings up to $2,500/week based on responsibilities. Regional Freight Pay: Average $1,475/week while operating mileage-based routes between tours. Important Note: All drivers will initially work in Averitt's regional division for 30 days. After transfer approval, you will begin touring assignments and salary-based pay. Tour Season: March - October, with tours lasting weeks and limited home time unless routes are nearby. Off-Season: November - February, drivers handle regional, no-touch freight for steady income. Your Responsibilities Transport staging, lighting, and production gear for major live events. Assist in loading/unloading and securing equipment with straps and load bars. Safely navigate tight or unconventional venue locations. Drive primarily at night to meet strict delivery timelines. Driver Highlights Expect to drive overnight often to meet event deadlines. Commit to completing entire tours or production runs once assigned. Routes cover the U.S. and Canada (valid passport required; Averitt reimburses if needed). Requirements: A minimum of 30 days driving experience with Averitt before transitioning to Production and Event operations. Must be 21 years of age or older. Possess a Class A CDL with a willingness to obtain a Hazmat endorsement. Flatbed certification required (training provided). Valid passport for Canada tours (Averitt reimburses if needed). One year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years. Entertainment/touring driving experience preferred but not required. No reckless driving convictions in the past 5 years. No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 5 years. No suspensions or revocations for moving violations in the last 5 years. No serious violations within the previous 12 months (such as exceeding speed limit by 15 mph, following too closely, improper passing). No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years. No preventable DOT recordable accidents in the past 3 years. Operative Functions Include: Drive safely and responsibly. Open and close trailer doors (force requirement: 46 lbs). Count and manage freight. Document fuel transactions. Hook and unhook trailers (force requirement: 90 lbs). Conduct pre-trip inspections. Ability to travel extensively and maintain an upright seating position for long periods. Move freight as needed (force requirement: 54 lbs). Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Enter and exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle as required. Access the rear of a trailer from ground level.
