Mechanical Piping Specialist

Connect heat pump coils with precision. Select appropriate types and sizes of pipe and materials according to specifications. Coordinate pipe routing with other trades to ensure efficient installation. Utilize various tools to cut, thread, and bend pipe as necessary. Assemble and install a variety of pipes and fittings using different joining methods. Secure piping structures using appropriate hangers, brackets, and clamps. Install and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including all associated piping. Test piping systems for leaks using established methods. Weld pipe supports to structural steel as required. Manage the transportation and unloading of materials and tools. Adhere to safety practices and project rules at all times. Undertake other assigned tasks as needed. Desired Skills: Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety. Effective communicator who follows instructions well. Able to read and understand safety and procedural documents. Basic computer skills for tracking progress and communication. Mathematical skills for precision in pipe angles. Capability to lift 50 lbs safely. Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience in mechanical systems. Preferred certifications in GMAW/MIG, GMAW/TIG, SMAW welding. In-depth understanding of plumbing codes and regulations. Experience with a variety of mechanical systems including chillers, boilers, and air handlers. Proficiency in hydronic and refrigeration piping methods. Familiarity with VRF systems.
