Your Role with MDE Electric As a Low Voltage Project Manager, you will lead multiple projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring technical excellence, financial accountability, and operational success. This role is perfect for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values quality, professionalism, and strong customer relationships. What You'll Do: Oversee all phases of low-voltage projects, including design coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance. Serve as a technical advisor to field teams and estimating departments. Manage labor tracking, financial projections, and change order documentation. Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring code-compliant installations. Mentor and develop field staff, fostering a culture of leadership and accountability. Key Responsibilities: Pre-Construction: Collaborate with engineers on system design, assist with permitting, and participate in job setup. Construction: Provide technical oversight, manage RFIs and coordination with trades, approve timecards, and oversee material procurement. Closeout: Ensure accurate as-builts, warranty documentation, and successful system commissioning. Background ProfileQualifications & Experience Five plus (5+) years of hands-on experience with low-voltage systems, including fire alarm, access control, CCTV, structured cabling, and A/V solutions. Two (2+) years in project management or field leadership roles, overseeing multiple concurrent projects. Proven ability to manage complex installations in multifamily, WRAP, and podium construction environments (preferred). Technical Expertise & Certifications (Preferred) NICET Certification (Fire Alarm) - highly desirable. Familiarity with leading systems and manufacturers, including: Honeywell Gamewell (Fire Alarm), Avigilon, Exacq, Digital Watchdog, Rath, Keyscan, ButterflyMX, Control4. Core Competencies & Soft Skills Exceptional communication skills with builders, engineers, customers, and internal teams. Highly organized with strong documentation practices. Customer-focused, proactive relationship builder. Analytical thinker with adaptability to changing conditions and project demands. Additional Requirements Ability to work from the main office with frequent travel to job sites. Valid California driver's license. Proficient in reading plans, interpreting specifications, and understanding code requirements.
