As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical leadership for complex systems and platforms, facilitating efficient and responsible product development across the company. You will engage in high-impact initiatives that operate at scale, shape technical direction across multiple teams, and influence the adoption of new technologies. Your Responsibilities Design and evolve shared platforms and services that empower multiple teams and product areas. Provide architectural direction and technical leadership for complex projects spanning various teams and departments. Assess and explore emerging technologies, guiding their adoption to enhance scalability and developer efficiency. Harmonize technical innovation with operational excellence, factoring in cost, performance, security, and reliability. Mentor engineers across disciplines, fostering technical excellence and career growth. Collaborate closely with product managers and business partners to align technical strategies with business objectives. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Required Skills and Competencies Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics. 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading significant, cross-functional initiatives. Experience in designing and operating distributed systems and service-oriented architectures at scale. Proficient in data storage and access patterns, including both SQL and NoSQL systems. Experience evaluating and integrating emerging technologies into production systems. Strong sense of ownership as a technical leader, with the ability to influence others without direct authority. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage both technical and business stakeholders. Compensation and Benefits This position offers a competitive salary range as follows: United States Remote - $167,000 - 243,000; Austin Metro Area - $167,000 - 243,000; Scottsdale Metro Area - $158,650 - 230,850; Seattle Metro Area - $217,000 - 315,000; San Francisco Metro Area - $224,000 - 324,000; New York Metro Area - $206,000 - 298,000. Actual compensation will depend on skills and experience, assessed during the interview process.
