Job Description

Department: Cardiac Cath Lab Schedule: 7:30a-4p Monday through Friday. No after hours or weekend call Hospital: Witham Health Services Location: Lebanon, IN Job Summary: Operates fluoroscopic and computer data equipment in the catheterization laboratory. The incumbent is responsible for proper set-up and adjustments of equipment to obtain correct exposures and readings. Must be able to update and accurately monitor computer to obtain a legal record of case performed. Assists physician and nurses in the performance, positioning and monitoring of peripheral, cardiac and interventional procedures. Able to demonstrate proficiency in the operation of equipment associated with cardiac cath lab including patient monitoring, contrast media injector, and cardiac catheterization laboratory radiographic equipment. Also must be able to demonstrate proficiency with CT system, fluoroscopic, conventional, and portable radiology equipment. Minimum Requirements: Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology. ARRT board certified. Indiana State Board licensed or eligible. Willing to work additional hours when requested by supervisor; available for callback. Must be CPR certified. Thorough knowledge of cardiac and peripheral vascular studies and supplies associated with each area of interest. Must be able to scrub with physician and observe sterile techniques. Ability to recognize gross changes in cardiac rhythms. Ability to operate and document information including patient vital signs into the computer system. Must be able to provide first call troubleshooting techniques for computer errors. Working knowledge of radiology equipment and automatic contrast media injector. Ability to archive electronic images as needed. Must be ACLS certified.
