Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Inland Marine and Transportation Claims Specialist to manage national claims of varying complexity. In this role, you will be responsible for addressing intricate adjustment issues and handling medium-sized complex National Accounts. Key Responsibilities: Examine insurance policies, claims, and relevant records to evaluate coverage. Administer and reconcile intricate catastrophic property claims. Communicate with claimants and witnesses through various channels to gather information. Consult police and hospital records; conduct inspections to assess property damage and company liability. Estimate costs for repair, replacement, or compensation. Prepare comprehensive reports of findings and negotiate settlements with claimants. Recommend litigation when settlements cannot be reached. Attend litigation hearings as necessary. Adjust case reserves in claims files to reflect probable costs efficiently. Prepare loss experience reports to assess profitability and future rate adequacy. Collaborate with excess carriers to verify coverages and potential reimbursements. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned. Travel as necessary for job requirements. Qualifications: Education & Licensing: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Candidates should possess IIA-AIC designation and be actively pursuing additional professional insurance designations. Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience is required. Skills & Knowledge: Strong oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications. Exceptional customer service capabilities. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Commitment to exceeding performance metrics.
