Applicants MUST be a current student at DigiPen Institute of Technology to qualify for this position. Student Employment at DigiPen is open to all currently matriculated students if they meet the qualifications for the job. Students may not work during any time when they have a class scheduled, a class is canceled, or a class ends early. Student workers must reside within the State of Washington. Remote work outside of Washington will not be permitted. Job Title: Operations Production Student Staff - Open World Summer Workshops, Su26Reports to: Emily "EmJ" Collins, Operations Manager We are looking for temporary summer administrative Operations Production Student Staff to support the operational needs of our summer 2026 workshops. We are looking for enthusiastic, kind, and professional candidates who enjoy working with kids. Open World Philosophy Every child who attends our workshops should come away feeling engaged by our instructors and industry guests, excited to share what they learned and created, empowered with the skills to continue creating, and cared for by every member of our team. Open World Core Values Exploration: Our program allows campers to explore new fields and dive deep into subjects they are passionate about. Problem solving: Through our workshops' fun and engaging activities, our campers will learn problem solving skills that can be applied outside of our program. Industry connection: Our campers will experience a direct connection to the interactive media industry, via our instructors and industry guests. Care: Every camper who attends our workshops will feel seen and cared for. Fun: Our program experience is focused on fun and exposure, rather than academic outcomes that must be achieved. Who's on the team? In addition to summer staff, there are five year-round Open World team members: Emily Kirby, VP of Open World David Robson, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Danny Samuels, Curriculum Consultant Brittan Rosa, Assistant Director of Marketing Emily "EmJ" Collins, Operations Manager Before you apply, please review the following information: Summer staff must be available from June 8 - August 21, 2026 Staff training: June 8 - 18, 2026 (hours may fluctuate between 30 - 40 hours a week during training, so financially plan accordingly) Workshops: June 22 - August 21, 2026 for all staff Locations: DigiPen Institute of Technology (Redmond, WA), Cascadia College (Bothell, WA) Hours fall between 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., but schedules may vary depending on specific responsibilities and location (40 hours max) Must a pass a criminal background check and 5-panel (non-THC) drug screen Student hours for the temporary full-time position range from 30 to 40 hours per week Student hours for the temporary part-time position range from 15 to 18 hours per week Students taking summer classes are only eligible for the part-time position and must be available from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday - Friday Workshops are held on-site at DigiPen and off-site at Cascadia College. You may be asked to work at either location. Transportation will be provided when necessary. This year, in addition to the full-time staff, we are hiring part-time staff to help with lunch. This shift will be from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. every day. Students taking summer classes will be eligible for this shift so long as it does not impede their class schedule. Students taking summer classes will not be eligible for the full-time shift.Essential Functions Provide administrative and operational support for all Open World workshops. This may include: Assisting with daily camper check-in and check-out Facilitating daily lunchtime procedures Keeping classrooms stocked with necessary supplies Setting up and taking down signage Assisting with the set up and production of camper activities Assisting with transportation of supplies between DigiPen's main campus and off-site workshop space Beginning-of-day setup and end-of-day cleanup Helping with camper pick-up Assisting with extended day program supervision Communicate with parents, campers, and teammates clearly and professionally Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Skills: Ability to work collaboratively within a team Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to engage campers; enjoys working with children and teens Ability to provide a supportive experience to all campers and adapt to changing camper support needs Bonus Skills/Attributes: Previous experience with K-12 students Has current CPR/first aid certification Strong attention to detail Compensation $17.13 per hour Returning staff who have previously worked in K12 summer programs at DigiPen may qualify for up to $18.25 per hour. Not benefits eligible. Working Conditions The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Some lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling Some stooping, kneeling, or crouching Able to lift up to 25 lbs. DigiPen Student Employee Academic Requirements: Are currently a Matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology Good Academic Standing - not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher Requirement Exceptions: It is possible to still be selected for a position with DigiPen if you do not meet the requirements above, so don't let that dissuade you from applying! Once you have applied for - and the supervisor decides to offer you - a position, we will contact the necessary managers (Supervisor, Department Chair, and/or the Dean of Faculty) to complete and sign off on an Academic Waiver form, depending on which requirements need to be waived. Once the Waiver is returned to us, we'll continue you through the hiring process.
