Tile Department Assistant Manager

Purpose This role plays a crucial part in training and developing our Product Sales Specialists while ensuring that every customer enjoys an exceptional shopping experience through outstanding customer service and product knowledge. Minimum Eligibility Requirements High School Diploma or GED At least 1 year of customer service or sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential job functions Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment Essential Functions Act in alignment with the company’s core values Adhere to the company’s safe lifting practices and standard operating procedures Champion and impart the company's philosophy on the basic P's of retail: People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing Guide and support all product sales specialists to deliver attentive and precise customer service Complete all required product specialist certification courses Possess comprehensive knowledge of merchandise and installation processes Oversee merchandising, pricing, and organization of the department Effectively communicate standard operating procedure updates to all associates Achieve certification and proficiency in operating industrial trucks (forklifts) Report inventory needs to management Direct and assist with processing merchandise for the showroom floor Check the accuracy of product placement and pricing in the department Greet every customer in a courteous and helper manner Assist customers with product inquiries and selections Utilize the point of sale (POS) system to process customer checkout Handle customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines Conduct 'how-to' classes for customers Follow cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures Answer the telephone in accordance with acceptable guidelines Stock and tag merchandise displays as needed Create price tags and signage for merchandise Working Conditions This position frequently involves working in a warehouse environment with moving vehicles, and the noise level may range from moderate to noisy. Physical/Sensory Requirements This job requires the ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The role necessitates frequent use of hands and fingers, standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing, balancing, and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
