Description Join our dynamic Information Services Department as a Lead Web Application Developer. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for crafting high-performance web applications, troubleshooting server-side issues, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders to create scalable and efficient solutions. You will play a crucial part in the entire web development lifecycle, from gathering requirements to deployment and ongoing maintenance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for web projects and applications. Design, develop, and maintain state-of-the-art web applications, ensuring exceptional performance and responsiveness. Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to guarantee the quality and stability of applications. Support system testing as needed to ensure seamless operation. Lead the deployment of web applications across various environments (development, staging, production). Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, including performance, connectivity, and configuration problems. Construct and optimize SQL queries for effective data retrieval and manipulation; maintain database performance and reliability. Document code, systems, and processes diligently. Stay up-to-date with the latest web technologies and industry trends. Optimize performance and ensure compatibility across browsers. Integrate data from back-end services and databases seamlessly. Implement security measures through firewalls, login systems, and industry best practices. Continue to expand knowledge on emerging technologies and trends. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: Undertake other duties and projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES): Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required. Relevant experience combined with a different educational background will also be considered. Experience: Over 10 years of professional web development experience utilizing modern languages/frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, Angular, C#, ASP.NET, MVC). Experience in web server management and deployment. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred. Experience in API integrations and third-party service applications is advantageous. Strong experience in designing and consuming APIs, integration layers, and microservices. Proficient knowledge of SQL is essential. Demonstrated experience working with AI/ML models or AI APIs is a plus. Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms (preferably Azure). Solid understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). Experience in building secure, scalable, and high-performing applications. Proven problem-solving skills with a strong inclination towards automation and efficiency. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Expertise in front-end technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular). Good understanding of SQL Server Database. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) is required. Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Capable of maintaining and improving website performance. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Quick learner, adaptable to business processes. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools is preferred. Basic knowledge of security best practices in web development is a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position operates in an office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The role is predominantly sedentary, involving the exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting for extended periods, with walking and standing required for some job duties. VISUAL ACUITY Close visual acuity is required for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
