What You'll Be Doing: In the role of Senior Software Engineering Director, you will spearhead our software engineering organization in a transformative journey. Your primary objective is to modernize our systems, consolidate legacy platforms, and implement scalable, efficient solutions. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and business teams to ensure that innovative solutions are delivered, exceeding expectations. As a key leader, you will foster a culture of excellence, customer focus, and continuous improvement. Your Responsibilities Will Include: Build a Robust Engineering Culture: Create and nurture a high-performing team that values continuous learning, innovation, and accountability. Collaborate Across Departments: Partner with leadership and product management to define a unified technical vision that aligns with overall business objectives. Drive Strategic Transformation: Lead the modernization of platforms and processes, streamlining onboarding and infrastructure management while adhering to long-term technology roadmaps. Engage with Stakeholders: Serve as a trusted advisor by thoroughly understanding business needs and leveraging your technical expertise to influence progress. Mentor and Develop Leaders: Guide engineering managers and team members, fostering leadership skills and technical depth within the organization. Enhance Technical Excellence: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of high-quality software solutions, advocating for best practices in architecture and development. Manage Performance: Establish clear goals and metrics for team performance and accountability. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous. High technical acumen with the capability to influence strategy beyond your immediate team. 12+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 7 years in leadership roles managing large, distributed teams. Proven ability to lead through change and foster a culture of innovation and accountability. Demonstrated success in delivering complex, enterprise-scale software projects on time and within budget. Technical expertise in Python, Spark, API development, Data Warehousing concepts, ETL patterns, and SQL. A strong grasp of cloud services and DevOps practices. Healthcare domain knowledge, particularly related to medical claims data, is highly preferred. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and articulate technical concepts clearly. A solid background in software engineering, architecture, and system integration is preferred. To ensure a secure hiring process, we have implemented identity verification steps, including submission of government-issued photo ID. The use of artificial intelligence tools during interviews is prohibited and monitored; any misrepresentation will lead to disqualification. Technical Requirements: Employees must have high-speed internet (over 10 Mbps), and call center employees should directly connect to their home router. These requirements may change with any office re-openings. The expected salary range for this position is $160,000 to $190,000, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
