Job Description

Speech therapists develop treatment plans to improve swallowing, cognitive and communication abilities, and to decrease aspirations. Communication treatment plans may include techniques that not only help the individual to be better understood, but also to help them better understand others. Leads, guides and directs the delivery of speech language pathology and audiology services in the facility in accordance with local, state and federal regulations, standards and established facility policies and procedures to provide appropriate care and services to residents. The Speech-Language Pathologist must possess: • valid, unrestricted license in his/her therapy discipline in the state. • Meet educational requirements of his/her licensure requirements. • Valid driver's license • Knowledgeable of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS 1 year of SLP experience - REQUIRED LTC or Rehab experience - Required MO State License - Required CCC certified SLP - Required Will accept one Reference at time of submission STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Missouri Compact Allowed ABOUT THE FACILITY 8 hrs of NBO Lee's Summit Pointe is a small 32 bed Rehab to Home facility with an emphasis on providing outstanding customer service and care. We are seeking a motivated, compassionate physical therapist that thrives in providing evidence-based practice care and continually seeks out ways to learn and improve functional techniques to assist patients in achieving their highest level of independence and satisfaction. The role of physical therapist will include (but not limited to) performance of initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations, development and implementation of appropriate client-centered treatment plans, proper documentation following APTA and clinic guidelines, maintaining a professional relationship with patients and physicians, and openly communicating with fellow team members.
