This full-time, hospital-employed overnight position plays a critical role in the assessment, stabilization, and triage of patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies. This role is fast-paced, autonomous, and deeply impactful, offering the opportunity to serve a high-need population during critical moments of care. Candidates must be Board Certified with a NYS License. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.Core Job Responsibilities Based in the Emergency Department providing frontline psychiatric evaluations Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, risk evaluations, and crisis intervention Determine appropriate level of care Collaborate with ED physicians, psychiatric teams, social workers, and community agencies Coordinate care and admissions to inpatient psychiatric unit when necessary Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives Demonstrate quality in documentation Must be on site Must have MHNP Certification Education/Experience RequirementsREQUIRED: Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required. Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting. Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges. Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas. Familiar with EHR/EMR software. Licensure/Certification RequirementsREQUIRED: Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges. Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.
