Applications Architect - Tibco Mainframe FOCUS/WebFOCUS

About the Role A State Government Agency is seeking an experienced Applications Architect with deep expertise in Tibco Mainframe FOCUS / WebFOCUS to support a large-scale financial systems modernization initiative. This role will lead the analysis, documentation, and remediation of legacy FOCUS-based assets as part of a statewide enterprise financial transformation. Key Responsibilities Analyze and document existing mainframe applications and business rules Convert Mainframe FOCUS queries to T-SQL Modernize flat-file-based programs to database-driven solutions Read, create, and modify JCL jobs (batch scheduling & job chaining) Develop ERDs and technical documentation Collaborate with DBAs, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams Support Agile/SCRUM-based delivery Required Experience 7+ years of IT experience across multiple disciplines 2-3 years of architecture-level experience Strong hands-on expertise in Tibco Mainframe FOCUS/WebFOCUS Advanced JCL knowledge (job creation, scheduling, RC types) Experience with flat file structures and batch schedulers ERP or financial systems exposure Strong documentation and communication skills Preferred Cool GEN COBOL DB2 z/OS Public sector or government project experience Large-scale financial system modernization experience Requirements US Citizen or Green Card Holder Local candidates strongly preferred 100% Onsite in Tallahassee, FL
