Position Overview A well-established professional services organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead firmwide HR operations within its New Jersey office. This role will oversee the full spectrum of human resources functions, including workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and benefits administration. The HR Manager will work closely with executive leadership to ensure best-in-class HR practices aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Strategic HR Leadership Partner with executive leadership to oversee all firmwide HR functions. Continuously evaluate HR policies and procedures; recommend and implement improvements. Provide reporting, workforce analytics, and financial analysis as requested. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives. Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws. Determine staffing needs and maintain benchmarked staffing ratios. Assist with integration and onboarding of new attorneys and professional staff. Employee Relations & Compliance Oversee employee relations matters and conflict resolution. Manage disciplinary processes in accordance with firm policy. Ensure compliance in handling leaves of absence (FMLA and related matters). Maintain up-to-date job descriptions and conduct periodic position reviews. Benefits & Compensation Administration Coordinate benefits administration including 401(k) and profit-sharing plans. Partner with Payroll and Benefits team members to ensure accurate execution of benefit programs. Operations & Staff Oversight Supervise non-exempt personnel including administrative and clerical staff. Ensure operational alignment with firm standards and expectations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 4+ years of progressively responsible HR experience within a law firm or professional services environment. Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements. Experience managing employee relations and conflict resolution. Proven ability to analyze complex HR issues and implement effective solutions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with partners, attorneys, and staff. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHR certification preferred.
