Position Type: Maintenance Date Posted: 2/19/2026 Location: Maintenance Date Available: TBD Closing Date: Until Filled Job Title: Technician 3 (HVAC) Division: Operations CPI Code: 424 Salary Schedule: Classified Grade 23 Eff Date: 02/19/2026 FLSA: Non Exempt Reports to: Executive Director of Maintenance Supervises: N/A Work Days: 240 days Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Two (2) years technical school preferred Three (3) years experience required Valid Georgia driver's license Performance Duties & Responsibilities: Repair, troubleshoot, maintain and operate heating systems (gas and oil fired boilers, hot water circulating and hot air furnaces). Be proficient in welding and sweating techniques to include oxy-acetylene and electric. Be able to give estimates on material and labor. Possess working knowledge of emergency procedures throughout the system (cut-off of water, gas, and electricity). Keep abreast of all technical bulletins and publications pertaining to organic equipment. Possess a valid Georgia vehicle operator's permit and operate, in a safe manner, assigned school-owned vehicle in the performance of assigned duties. Evaluate, clean, and repair heating and cooling coils. Establish workable relationships with co-workers and supervisors. Determine type and amount of refrigerant and charge compressors. Be proficient in weights and measurements. Perform oxy-acetylene welding in the replacement of dryers, flexers, and compressors. Maintain, in a serviceable condition, tools, and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks. Maintain certification in refrigerant recovery, disposition and inventory. Change filters and enhance indoor air quality, as required. Other duties as assigned by the executive director or any maintenance supervisor. Other Functions: Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met. Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires constant physical demands: 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and occasional lifting/carrying.
