Summary: Manage/lead the overall design, implementation and monitoring of the Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control(QC) and Performance Improvement (PI) activities in Radiology. Responsible for maintaining patient readiness, and regulatory compliance, supporting radiology services to include Diagnostic Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and IR. Collaborates with radiology operations managers, supervisors and Radiologists in development and implementation of metrics to ensure quality and safety services. Works directly with managers and supervisors to address compliance issues discovered during audits / tracers / mock inspections fostering environment focused on quality, safety and continuous improvement; aligning quality activities with the work with individuals, departmental and organizational goals and objectives. Interfaces with regulatory readiness, quality, and safety (patient, hospital, MR and radiation) at the organizational level. Responsible for interfacing with radiology IT for all systems management and support. This position reports to the Director. Responsibilities: Accreditation / Compliance: Maintain inspection readiness. Demonstrate knowledge and ownership of current inspection requirements for all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies relating to area of responsibility. Review and monitor ACR, CMS, Joint Commission and other regulatory sites for changes that affect radiology, hospital services and billing. Serve as contact for new and renewal applications for accreditation and certification from required agencies. Develop and test response drills for the arrival of outside inspection teams. Follow up with managers and supervisors to help address compliance issues discovered during audits / tracers / mock inspections. Works directly with Accreditation & Regulatory Readiness to support radiology department compliance through all operations. Manage/leads the development, implementation, and monitoring of the department's overall Performance/Quality Improvement program (PI/QI); reports monthly and year-to-date comparisons; identifies trends, prioritizes and recommends improvements and ensures ACR/Joint Commission/OSHA/CMS etc. compliance. Interacts with medical leaders, management, caregivers, ancillary staff; participates in hospital committees as assigned; studies existing hospital policies and procedures and updates those as required; works to develop, implement and drive safety improvements that are measurable and sustainable; helps drive change culture to incorporate quality methods PDSA/PDCA cycles. Align daily work with individual, modality, departmental and organizational goals and objectives. Initiate and / or participate in quality/performance improvement opportunities. Promote teamwork and cooperation through helpful, courteous and positive interactions with colleagues. Promote a trusting and secure work environment through supportive, dependable interactions. Collaborates with teams to develop SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timebound) aims/metrics based upon project charter, key driver diagram, process flow and other documents, as necessary. Share knowledge and provide direction to new employees, students, technologists, and other staff. Pursue continuing education. Perform other duties and special projects as requested. Read and adhere to all Radiology policies and procedures. If consultant is a licensed, registered imaging technologist (ARRT, ARMRIT, RDMS, NMTCB), functions as an imaging technologist as needed based on direction from imaging director/manager(s). WORK EXPERIENCE At least 5 years Experience in healthcare Req At least 3 years Experience in quality and process improvement Pref EDUCATION Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Pref LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS One of the following: ARRT, ARMRIT, RDMS, NMTCB, RN or ASQ Upon Hire Req Lean Six Sigma or equivalent quality/performance improvement certification Pref A Place Where You Belong We put our people first.
