Our client is currently seeking a Sr Firmware Engineer Job Responsibilities Firmware Development Collaborate in gathering and defining product and firmware requirements. Design, implement, and optimize wireless firmware solutions. Learn and apply Bluetooth Core standards published by the Bluetooth SIG. Develop firmware for BLE and NFMI radio systems. Debug and resolve issues within the wireless subsystem. Validate firmware functionality through manual and automated testing approaches. Testing & Quality Assurance Design and document test plans based on requirements to ensure thorough test coverage. Develop unit tests, semi-automated tests, and automated test suites. Implement and maintain automated tests using languages such as Python or C. Investigate and resolve test failures and system-level integration issues promptly. Innovate new testing methodologies and enhance existing test processes. Follow and continuously improve established development and testing workflows. Process Excellence Adhere to development best practices, including code reviews, documentation standards, and coding conventions. Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance team efficiency. Drive and lead the creation of new processes to improve engineering productivity. Provide mentorship to team members, supporting both technical and professional growth. Leadership & Collaboration Mentor and coach engineers, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions and creating documentation. Serve as a role model for junior and mid-level team members. Lead project planning efforts, including scope definition and work estimation. In Scrum environments, take on responsibilities such as Product Owner or Scrum Master as needed. Coordinate project activities proactively with cross-functional teams. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Job Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; or Master's degree (MSEE) in a related field; or PhD in a related field. Experience 10+ years of relevant experience (with a Bachelor's degree); or 5+ years of relevant experience (with an MSEE); or 4+ years of relevant experience (with a PhD). Technical Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or other wireless communication standards. Knowledge of wired communication protocols. Hands-on experience in embedded firmware development. Familiarity with firmware testing methodologies and tools. Experience using over-the-air protocol analyzers (e.g., Ellisys). Proficiency in C and/or assembly languages. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python. Solid understanding of analog and digital circuitry. Knowledge of architectures for programming devices such as DSPs or microcontrollers.
