This Reactor Operator position is for the Peach Bottom Nuclear Station in Delta, PA. Starting rate for this role is $67.77 per hour. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Upon successfully completing Initial License Training, including obtaining the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Reactor Operator (RO) License, you will operate the Nuclear Power Station according to the Licensed Reactor Operators responsibilities. This will include adherence to the station's operating procedures and compliance with Operations Department policies and practices. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Engage in classroom training and practical applications to attain an RO License. Participate in lessons, study sessions, exams, and field training necessary for licensing. Complete all tasks as assigned for site operations support. Finish Initial Training and/or Watch Station Qualifications successfully. Pass all company and NRC exams necessary for RO licensing. Upon licensure: Safely operate the plant in compliance with approved procedures and Technical Specifications. Continuously monitor the reactor to ensure operations remain within established norms. Oversee assigned control room panels and promptly notify the Unit Supervisor of any irregularities. Maintain awareness of all activities impacting the unit and collaborate effectively with fellow Reactor Operators. Ensure a comprehensive narrative log of unit activities is accurately maintained during shifts. Perform necessary clearance activities and coordinate liquid radwaste management with relevant personnel. Conduct electrical switching operations from the Control Room. Be prepared for on-call duties and work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, while being part of the Emergency Response Organization. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent certificate. Successfully pass the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and Basic Math and Science Test (BMST) pre-employment assessments. Pass the NRC-required physical examination for licensed operators. Capability to fulfill fire brigade member qualifications aligned with operational needs. Obtain unescorted access to Constellation's nuclear power plants. Meet one of the following experience requirements: 6 months of operational experience as a non-licensed operator at the Constellation nuclear power plant. 12 months of non-licensed plant operational experience at a comparable nuclear facility. 6 months of active licensed reactor operator experience at a comparable facility or 12 months at a non-comparable facility. 18 months of experience in a military Navy Reactor position equivalent to Reactor Operator. 27 months of experience in a non-nuclear power production plant.
